Areas of specialty

Rosalie Orr is an Accredited Sports Dietitian and founder of Athlete Performance Group, specialising in performance nutrition for elite and emerging athletes across professional team sports, weight-category sports, and individual high-performance disciplines such as track and field, endurance, and strength-based sports, as well as high-performing professionals with demanding physical and cognitive workloads.

Her clinical practice centres on optimising performance while protecting long-term health, with particular expertise in Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs) recovery, body composition management, and the interpretation and application of blood biomarkers to inform performance decisions. Rosalie has a strong interest in using objective physiological data to guide nutrition and training strategies, ensuring athletes are supported beyond surface-level metrics and short-term outcomes.

Rosalie is recognised for her strong clinical reasoning, considered decision-making, and ability to translate complex research into practical, evidence-led strategies that can be applied in real-world training and competition environments. Her approach is highly individualised and collaborative, aligning recommendations with the athlete’s physiology, training phase, competitive calendar, and lifestyle, rather than relying on generic protocols or trends.

Her work is informed by extensive lived experience. Before entering sports dietetics, Rosalie worked in corporate finance while training and competing at a high level, including physique competition. During this period, she experienced REDs firsthand after pushing her body beyond sustainable limits, which led her to seek clinical support and exposed a significant gap in athlete healthcare and performance oversight. This experience prompted her return to university to retrain in sports dietetics, with a clear focus on addressing the systemic shortcomings she had observed.

Rosalie continues to maintain a high personal training load alongside leading and scaling her business, currently training kickboxing and structured strength-based resistance training. This ongoing immersion in performance culture allows her to understand the realities athletes face when balancing training, recovery, body composition pressures, and life demands.

She is a strong advocate for athlete health and ethical performance practice, committed to challenging misinformation, improving standards of care, and supporting sustainable, long-term performance. All recommendations are grounded in the latest scientific evidence, clinical judgement, and a deep respect for the human behind the performance goal.
